ive heard you can only make 5 silver accounts and ive made 3 so far,saving the other 2.My friend made five and he cant any more.Silvers are free for a month,as long as you dont use all of the five,then they charge i think 5.99.Ive never heard of the free golds though...
Also i can play on my silvers when ever i want,not just weekends or latenights...

well, its really a silver account with a one month trial. I think you only get three because that's all I got. just sign up for a silver account, and at the end it will tell you that you are eligible for a one month trial of xbox live gold.

Even if you've reached the limit on the # of accounts on your console...Just delete one of the inactive Silver accounts after the FREE 1 month of gold service. Then add another free one. As long as you free up the space/limit then you can have another account to use for a month. At least that's been my experience. If you have spare memory devices, you could keep them on there and not have to delete them or use the Transfer Kit to back them up on your PC.
Also, even after these accounts expire you can use them as guests (secondary players) on XBL as long as you use an active account as your primary controller/log-in.
