Headset Problem...

Ok, I have had a problem with my headsets ever since i got my 360, when I am on XBL, it doesnt receive sound, I have called Xbox about this problem and they sent me a new mic, it started to not receive sound again, so i called them back and the same problem is happening.

Does anyone know what the problem is or could be, not receiving sound because of the controller I am plugging it into, but this is my 3rd mic that xbox has given me and the same thing has happened to all of them.

The Microsoft brand mics are extremely shitty...my advice to you would be to travel to your nearest Gamestop or EB and pick up a Plantronics X20 or X30 headset...I use the X20 and it's the best headset I've ever had my hands on...plus they don't break...unless you throw them at walls like I do

I had the old X20, the black one, but it broke when I shattered it off my wall...so I went and got the new white (360) one...and the quality is just as good...I would venture to say, that for the value, this is the best overall mic for 360 use.

No seriously those 360 are garbage. I can recommend two good mics for ya.

1. A plantronics mic (i have this mic and i am very satisfied with it). The only problem is getting used to it. It hurt me ear for about a week but its perfect now.

Its cheap but its def good quality and would be my first choice easily.

2. The new motorola headset. It is the headsets coaches use on football teams but have been modified to work with the 360. But i have heard from a few different people these are extremely good and well worth the price of $49.99

Im sorry, I have the same problem and had to resort to the turtle beach 100$ headphones because they send the sound from the tv to your headset, so all I had to do was set it to speakers only so it comes through my headset. I have not found an answer, I went through 3 different mics before finally resorting to this. It happened after my friend plugged in a mic when i had one too while playing halo. I have tried like every single thing there is possible to fix it.

I actually saw this mic at bestbuy's websie shortly after i made this thread, they look so cool.

i had to resort to buying a highquality pc mic and soldering it into the mute and volume controls on the 360 headset but once i did it its been lovely
