SAN FRANCISCO - March 6, 2007 - Today Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, announced that in celebration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(TM)(TMNT) franchise and the launch of its upcoming TMNT(TM) video game March 20, it is releasing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1989 classic arcade game on Xbox LIVE (r)Arcade on the Xbox 360(TM). The Classic Arcade game, originally published by Konami and most recently developed for Xbox LIVE Arcade by Digital Eclipse, a division of Foundation 9 Entertainment, will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade - the premier destination for digitally distributed, high definition original and classic games - in March.

The TMNT arcade game brings the nostalgia of the early coin-op arcade days of gaming into the comfort of the living room through the power of Xbox LIVE(r) and Xbox LIVE Arcade. The game will feature the original seven levels, two- to four-player co-op modes and voice- chat capabilities and be available for download for 400 Microsoft Points ($5 U.S.).

Ubisoft's new TMNT video game uses the same dark and dangerous environments and adventurous themes featured in the new TMNT CGI film being developed by Imagi Animation Studios and Mirage Licensing. The TMNT movie takes place in a New York City plagued by secretive villains and strange, otherworldly creatures. Faced with these perils, the Turtles will experience their most trying time as heroes and as a family, as Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo lose their focus and struggle to maintain their unity and ninja discipline. In the movie and in the highly immersive video game adventure, it's up to Leonardo and the faithful father figure Splinter to reunite the band of brothers and save New York City from a monstrous evil that lurks around every corner. yea..it does look pretty.. tite..i never knew it was 1989 though..cuz didnt the movies come out till the 90's??
