Portfolio Value: 1,038.74 Gain/Loss: 5 | User-created games now on Xbox 360! This is really intresting. We could see some of the best games to be released for the XBLA because of this. Im VERY excited about this feature!

Big news for Xbox owners; Microsoft has launched Xbox Live Community Games for Xbox 360, allowing XNA users to upload their own homemade games for download on Xbox Live.

According to Microsoft Game Developer Group General Manager Chris Satchell, who just announced the service at Microsoft's GDC keynote, free trials of these community created games should be available on Xbox Live "immediately", though we can't see them on our consoles yet.
"Now, 10 million people on Xbox Live get to play your game," he said. "'Xbox Live Community Games will give creators a huge audience to share their creativity with. Game distribution will be democratized, allowing the community to control the content. Create, Submit, Peer Review, Play are the four key steps... We want creativity to flow through this pipeline.
XNA Studio users can upload games using a "creator identity", which keeps track of all the games you've made in the past.
Satchell showed off a short demo of user-created game called Jellycar, featuring a cartoon car driving through a crayon world.
With Movies, Xbox Originals and now user-made games Xbox Live's becoming an even more fantastic service, even if we don't mind sounding like we're kissing Microsoft's delicious feet. How long until we see a decent homebrew game though? |

Portfolio Value: 4,473.92 Gain/Loss: 10 | Any of ya'll try the free XNA games on XBLA yet? i.e Jelly Car, DishWasher, Culture?
Jelly Car is really, really fun and addictive. These are the types of games the XBLA needs. Not more remakes of old arcade games (as much as I do love them). These types of games were sort of a selling point for the PS3 and the 360 has them too. I haven't tried the other ones, I d/l all but 1. I have been cracking on Jelly Car. I advise all to go download it. I can't say much about the other games other then they look cool.
Culture sounds really cool. Something about a flower fighting weeds. Don't quote me on that. Go download them.
Edit- In Jelly Car, if you don't like the crayon style animation (why wouldn't you) they have a couple other styles, vector and blueprint are weird.
