| Braid edit: This game was released on August 6th, 2008 (yesterday)
Ok so I just downloaded this game due to all the amazing reviews it has been getting, and it is one of the better games I've ever played in my life. The way that the game uses time as a fourth dimension is fantastic. The game requires true intellect and thinking, something your not going to find anywhere else. At first being hesitant to the 1200pt buy, the purchase was immediately validated one I reached the second world (there is a total of 6).
However with that said, Braid is not for everyone. Actually I'm scared that the general xbox audience isn't going to enjoy it. This is because the general xbox audience is very online shooter centric, and don't require serious thinking. Braid will test your intellect, and make you think hard about time and how to utilize it to reach your goal.
If you like arty, interesting, and games that require true thinking, Braid will be one of the best games you've ever encountered. But, if you bought an Xbox for Halo 3, your enjoyment of Braid may not justify the 1200 price point.
In all seriousness, this is the most original game I've ever played, and possibly the best game I've ever played on the Xbox system. Please... do whatever you have to do to buy this game, because it will change your view on games forever.
---Some Braid Reviews--- Eurogamer - 10/10 "Braid is beautiful, entertaining and inspiring. It stretches both intellect and emotion, and these elements dovetail beautifully rather than chaffing against each other. Still wondering if games can be art? Here's your answer." --Review Link-- Xbox World 360 Magazine UK - 10/10 "Amazing ideas, achievement, logic, pride, beauty, and a game so good it makes every other Xbox World five-star game look a little silly. In a world without Mario and Valve and the Bethesda hit factory Braid is indeed the best game ever made; in this world, it's among the best games of the generation, and is unquestionably and immediately the best game ever to have been released on Xbox Live Arcade." --Review Link-- 1UP.com - A+ "Braid is made truly divine with emotional depth and a bittersweet humanity -- a monumentally relevant game that speaks highly of its creators and their potential audience's tolerance for new ideas. To say nothing of an absolutely brilliant, emotionally devastating 'ending' that proves that time isn't really that malleable after all." --Review Link-- Official Xbox Magazine - 9/10 Braid is absolutely a game you shouldn’t miss. --Review Link-- Team Xbox - 9.1/10 It combines fun gameplay with an absolutely exquisite appearance - not going too far to one side or the other that it dilutes form over function, or vice versa. --Review Link--

| Re: Braid I had someone on my F/L playing this game earlier and I was like what the hell is this guy playing? I'm really going to look into it, because I've had fun with a lot of arcade games. I just need to get 1200 M$ points first, but right now I'm working on changing my gamertag. I'm going to look this game up and see how it looks.
Edit: I just watched a youtube video of this. It brings back memories of games I used to play before I even owned a Super Nintendo. I'm definitely going to buy this game, because it looks like it takes a lot of thinking and different skills to get good at.

I'm always down to play Castle Crashers. Send a F/R to eExorcist for co-op no matter what level you are. I'll even carry you to the end of the game in a few hours!

Your character traverses a bunch of floating platforms and cannons that shoot out enemies which you can kill by jumping on their heads (sound familiar?). However, time is at your control by holding down the X button. Together you using time, with the special time-related twist of every level, your goal is to get these puzzle pieces throughout the level. These are not easy to get. Some of them require some serious thought, as you have to bend your mind through multiple layers of time, the past future and present.
Try the demo. |

| Re: Braid I just finished World 1 (the 6th and last world of the game), and wow. I did not see that coming. For me, this just took Game of the Year away from GTA4.
Wow that ending was... perfect.

Not only do I love the concept, I love the music too, sounds like one of those fantasy types. |

| Re: Braid I Was impressed, til i completed it a day after i downloaded it making me think, "these points could have been spent on something else" however i did enjoy it, all i need now is to get the time trial achievement, I'd say its good, but too short, and the powers are limited, i would have like to have seen something that makes certain things just stop moving completely, while you would still move ETC hope they bring out free DLC because that was to expensive to be that short |
